Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin. Dermal fillers are meant to create a smoother or fuller appearance, or both.
Have you started to feel like your skin is not as firm as it once was? Are you seeking a way to minimize unwanted signs of aging, but a surgical procedure does not feel right for you? Consider RADIESSE! This unique dermal filler stimulates your body’s own tissue production processes.
What Is RADIESSE?
RADIESSE® is an FDA-approved dermal filler that encourages your body’s natural collagen production process and reduces volume loss. Collagen is produced by your body to provide skin with support and structure, but the production declines over time.
RADIESSE charlotte is made with a gel that contains microspheres of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) suspended within it. When this dermal filler is injected, the microspheres trigger collagen production to smooth the appearance of:
- Chin wrinkles
- Marionette lines
- Pre-jowl folds
- Smile lines
Although it is most often used on the face, this injectable treatment may also be used on the hands! RADIESSE med spa for hand rejuvenation provides targeted volume increases to minimize signs of aging on the backs of hands.
What Could I Expect from a Treatment Session?
RADIESSE injections are administered during outpatient treatment sessions in the comfort of our office. During each session, these dermal fillers are carefully injected into specific areas of concern. You may experience some pinching or discomfort at the injection site, but there is little to no pain associated with the entire process.
RADIESSE treatment sessions are typically short, and you should be able to resume your normal daily activities! You may notice some tenderness, bruising, or swelling in the treatment areas, but this should subside before you know it!
Results achieved with this dermal filler will vary for each person and particular concern addressed. Although most enjoy an immediate increase in volume, the best results take some time to enjoy. Results may last for up to a year, and a series of regular treatments is often recommended to achieve and maintain the best results.
Belotero® contains hyaluronic acid that occurs naturally in the skin. It attracts water, increasing the fullness or plumpness of the skin. As we age, we lose hyaluronic acid from the skin, resulting in loss of fullness and deflation. Belotero® filler can increase the fullness and inflate the skin.
An advantage of Belotero® compared to all other hyaluronic acid fillers is that it is specially formulated to avoid appearing blue under the skin. Many hyaluronic acid fillers that are placed too superficially can appear blue, like how our veins appear blue. The fact that hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin accounts for the low incidence of allergic reaction to Belotero®.
Am I a Candidate for Belotero®?
Belotero® is recommended for treating lines and wrinkles in the lower third of the face, including:
- Smile lines
- Nasolabial folds
- Lines around the lips and at the corners
How is Belotero® Performed?
The Belotero® syringes are designed with thin needles that are used to make the injections. The gel is administered at a specific depth to even out the entire wrinkle for a completely natural look.
Does Belotero® Filler Hurt When Injected?
You may feel a slight prick on your skin followed by a minor pressure as the gel enters the tissues. Most patients can tolerate the sensation. If you feel uneasy at any time, we can numb the skin before completing the injections.
How Long Will Belotero® Results Last?
In most cases, Belotero® filler lasts at least six months. The longevity of Belotero® under eyes treatments or Belotero® lips injections may last a little more or a little less time.
Restylane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like your body's own naturally produced hyaluronic acid, helping to visibly correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the lines that run from your nose toward the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines that run from the corners of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines).
Additionally, Restylane and Restylane® Silk are FDA-approved for lip enhancement in patients over the age of 21 and are uniquely formulated to give your lips fullness and definition.
